THE ATLANTIC SALMON RESERVE
The Atlantic Salmon Reserve was founded in the year 2003 by Peter C. Power who was appointed “Adviser (Sovetnik) to the Governor for International Tourism” in June, 2007. The ASR is the world's first conservation area for Atlantic Salmon, Sea Trout & Wild Brown Trout and Arctic Char. Fly fishing is available on the Kharlovka, Eastern Litza, Rynda and Zolotaya rivers through the Northern Rivers Company in Russia where the territory is known as: Дом для лосося

The NORTHERN RIVERS COMPANY is a Russian limited liability company with head offices at str. Starostina 31, Murmansk, 183071 Russia.The "ATLANTIC SALMON RESERVE" is a registered brand name which, together with its accompanying logo, is used to describe the Altantic Salmon and Wild Brown Trout fisheries on the Kharlovka, Eastern Litza and Rynda Rivers and the territory covered by their watersheds.

The Company owns the fishing rights within the ASR together with two substantial Camp Lodges and two fixed Tented Camps. These facilities are able to accommodate up to 24 salmon (with their own en suite bathrooms) and 12 trout anglers for a weeks holiday in relative luxury. It is the largest sports fishing business in the Kola Peninsula and will entertain approximately 500 paying guests for Atlantic Salmon and Wild Brown Trout fishing in Year 2005. See - APPLY TO FISH IN THE ASR.At the peak of the season it will employ up to 75 supporting Russian staff, builders and helicopter crews deployed through the camps, on the rivers or in Murmansk. The company does not employ non-Russians and purchases all supplies locally. Viktor Koretsky is the General Director of the Northern Rivers Company and Vladimir Kulagin the Director of Operations.
The Northern Rivers Company, in partnership with Murmanryvbod, has total control over the fishery. Since 1998 we have operated the most stringent and elaborate salmon & trout protection system. The ASR territory is unique in being one of the only places in the world where poaching has been eliminated. The salmon parr count has increased substantially in the last few years and the fish catch risen dramatically. We operate a strictly "catch & release" policy and all staff a trained in the careful handling of the fish. Special care is taken to ensure the wild brown trout areas are lightly fished because of their fragile eco-system. Our aim is to protect this precious Russian national asset so that it remains in pristine condition and continues to improve as a great fishery for generations to come. The Company uses its best endeavours to set the highest possible safety standards. It has commissioned a United Kingdom Standard "Risk Assessment" for both guests and staff alike. It has appointed official safety officers in the two fixed camps. They are Nikolai Baleev at Rynda Lodge and Vladimir Kulagin at Kharlovka Lodge. They are responsible for ensuring that fishing employees are properly trained in good guiding practice, helicopter deployment procedures and boat handling and that such training is recorded in the Safety Log Books kept at each camp and available for inspection.
In particular they are responsible for ensuring both staff and guests are made aware of, and adhere strictly to, the Company Safety Regulations. The Company employs a fully qualified doctor resident at Rynda through the season and on a 24 hour helicopter call up through the ASR territory. The two safety officers are responsible for ensuring that all guiding staff have been given elementary paramedic training by the doctor and entering the same in the Safety Log Books.
